Let Them Ask

The kids have a "game," if you will, called "can Jesus." They each ask a dozen questions on things Jesus can do; "can Jesus hold a car with one finger," "can Jesus juggle 100,000 apples," "can Jesus throw me high in the sky." And they can go on and on, every time becoming more excited that Jesus could do those things. Are the questions silly? Yes. Do I get slightly agitated, like the kid who repeatedly asks "are we there yet"? Sometimes. But these silly and childish questions mean a whole lot to them. One day the questions will change, and I want to be the same person they come to when they do. So I tell myself to let them ask. Don't quiet them down. Be enthusiastic about their inquisitiveness. Answer the question(s) with a yes, yes he can. Because just like he placed the stars in the sky and made the greatness of the sea, he can do all those things they ask and more.
